You do not seem very tolerant of us streetpreachers Dave.
These are not hypothetical situations, we were accused by this Shannon Young-(I have never seen him-perhaps he was off giving donuts to the Mormons or something)-of specific acts. As well, no one has answered hatefully in these letters. Why does truth sound so harsh to the soft Christians. Certainly you have been blessed by Young's repsonses-you are probably as watered down as he is.
Remember some of these men may have displayed little grace because frankly, we are tired of attacks from the "brethren" about what to say, how to say it and what to do to preach more effectively. If you or Young are around Buffalo tomorrow come on out-I would love to hear you preach to the sodomites, fornicators etc. as they are spitting at you and possibly swinging. If you are not interested in that perhaps you can bring some stuffed animals and do some trivia quizzes.

Come on... I'm really dumbfounded by this whole thing...I cannot believe the reaction to this letter. I would like to respond, but frankly it seems like I'm fueling a fire that should not be kept going. I don't mind you calling me soft and watered down, but really is that how you want to deal with this? Where is this going?
I think one of the big problems is that people think that I targeted preachers on my cc list. I will grant you that it should have been a blind cc list...my mistake, but I didn't target preachers, I got the whole list from a link on Larry's page...you guys had the list all put together for me. I found your e-mail from a link off of streetpreaching.com to banners unfurled to revivalneeded...I didn't specifically target anyone or accuse anyone. This is getting silly.
I also find it rather amusing that all the encouraging replys were sent to me, whereas all the guys who wanted to rip on me for being a compromiser sent it to everyone. Funny huh? A public spanking, that's ok...
Shannon, I agree. Yours was a general plea of encouragement. The situations that you described never mentioned that specific preachers were doing these things. As you have mentioned in your replies I took your post as I would take a point made in a sermon. The way that some of these guys are responding even after you are clarifying what you meant says a lot about them. Nuff said.
This whole thing has me disturbed. I will indirectly post my comments on my blog tomorrow. The only reason I won't specifically suggest my readers to come over here is because I don't know if I want them to be frustrated as I have. Not with YOU - but the replies. I have to ask God to help me love some of these brethren and I don't want to inadvertently lead someone else into the same struggle. Keep doing right, Shannon!

just so you guys know why he said that to me, i sent an e mail asking them to stop sending me all this hate mail. i went on to say it does not make any sense to keep asking for proof for a hypothetical situation. thats when i got a flood of e mails from all the boys, this one that Shannon posted being only the very start. there are ones that are way more hostel and down right mean. here are my other replies

when i go out on the street i stick to the gospel of Jesus Christ, if you think thats being a "soft Christian" then so be it! i preach repentance, hell, the law and Gods love and grace. i think thats biblical?? but i do not see where Jesus Christ called any women a whore, i do not see him calling people names at all, except the self righteous religious of his day. makes you think eh brother Lyman. i have no problem with street preachers, as long as they are there to preach.

to both brother James, my point was that i did not want to continue getting these kind of e mails, i should not have added my two cents in that request because this is the only end for this type of talk. two men of different threads of the Christian faith bickering as hordes of the lost fall into hell. so, ill ask again, please remove me from the lists i have been added to. im not going to continue to respond. not because i don't have anything to say but because i just don't think it's going to get us anywhere. you guys have your way and we have ours we both believe it to be right and sense neither you nor myself can talk about this with out taking stabs at one another and causing division in the body, it think we all should stop now. lets put our efforts into fighting the devil and his minions and not each other.

none of my requests to be removed from their e mail lists have met with any success, and they continue to use name calling and bullying instead of reason. this has been a very sad state of affairs. if anyone else is receiving these e mails i suggest you ignore them, don't be as dumb as i was and e mail these guys.

Shannon, Remember this was all self-defense and these were not hypothetical situations. By the way, what church do you go to Shannon? And as far as your friend Dave, keep in mind that one of his favorite movies is the Passion of the Christ, made by an unsaved Roman Catholic and it sounds like he still enjoys heavy metal by his blog. That is a man of little spiritual discernment, if any at all. In fact if he still listens to heavy metal (I did not state that he did, but it is implied) I would question if he has been genuinely converted. By the way, with our method of preaching Thursday in Buffalo, a young girl came to Christ and the Lord has been working in some lives in some tremendous ways. Also remember that if you had just been biblical and WENT TO SPECIFIC BRETHREN INDIVIDUALLY INSTEAD OF PUBLICKLY, THIS NEVER WOULD HAVE WENT SO FAR!
